First off, it is amazing to see how one designer can come up with three completely different collections (Christos, Amsale and Keneth Pool) and make them all work. Having said that, what Christos aimed for this season was to embody the modern romance and femininity combining it with the essence of couture. With delicate lace details, sheer fabrics and soft touches of beading the designs created the feeling of a cherished piece but still looked modern, which is a hard combination but they pulled it off. Fourteen pretty dresses walked down the runway, some of the crowd favorites were a strapless sheath gown with floral beaded tulle overlay and a strapless chiffon gown with tonal (we are seeing more and more color details coming in as a trend this season) beaded bodice and A line skirt with amazing back details. Overall they were nice fabrics with traditional silhouettes and simpler gowns, but the attention to detail here and there made them special and interesting enough. For a bride that doesn´t necessarily want to be in the spot light or over the top but still wants to look polished and special, at Christos she´ll definitely find a lot of options.
