Essex House, Art Deco Lounge
The award for worst venue of the day goes to Jenny Lee. With a front row only 8 seats in total & the balance of the room forced to crane our necks around pillars while models posed in bizarrely contorted ways, it’s a wonder anyone will be able to comment, unless you were one of the lucky 8’s. This collection was actually quite beautiful & is a perfect choice for the bride who appreciates quality of needle & fabrication, but isn’t comfortable making any statement aside from tradition. Trumpet gowns, mermaid gowns & traditional corseted bodices with full skirts were shown & all in some shade of ever so subtle Off-White. Corded & re-embroidered lace was used in abundance as was just the right amount of needle work details like the season’s favorite, fluting. There was no bridal history being made in this collection, but that’s not to say that this collection was lackluster in any way at all. Quite the contrary is true.
