Loving and Company Showroom
Wendy Brandes is certainly a woman with a story to tell. The former writer for Wall Street Journal, CNN, and People.com flipped the proverbial script by leaving her editorial career behind to start a mini jewelry empire and Brandes knows how to deliver.
At first glance, Brandes’ aesthetic is a mix of young and whimsical with a dash of old- school craftsmanship. It isn’t until you’re holding a Wendy Brandes piece that you can even begin to appreciate the work behind the jewelry. The mechanical elements of her pieces-a bird on a nest inside of an egg or a tiny squirrel hiding inside of an acorn-are a true testament to Brandes’ wit and charm.
Brandes’ work has even made its way onto a multitude of celebrities; her Cleopatra earrings (pictured below) were featured on Kim Cattrall in Sex and the City 2 last
summer and startlets from Hayden Panettiere to Liv Tyler have worn Brandes pieces in various appearances.
Wendy has a keen eye for what works in terms of accessories and her success thus far is certainly well earned. Here’s to more movie features and celebrity appearances, Ms. Brandes!
