The Studio @ Lincoln Center
Glossy finishes & subtle color blocking were the predominant details in this collection that at times seemed like the designer was presenting a study in minimalism. The color palette basically consisted of Cream, Taupe, Tan, White & a Royal Tinted Indigo from beginning to end with a brief experimentation with Black & Gray, but only as a suggestion rather than a full blown statement. Her fits were predominantly close to the body or very full, with no room left for moderation. Ms. Wan is fresh from her store opening in SoHo & presented a collection will not have the fashion historians asking for photos or reference samples, but will have the registers ringing at her boutique in SoHo. One amazing complement I can give her on this collection is that it is apparent she knows her customer as these items were such natural transitional pieces from her Autumn/Winter 2011 collection that they will just plug right in seamlessly & effortlessly. Let the wardrobing begin!
