“The 70’s were a time when women were carefree in what they wore and how they lived their lives and were really coming into their own, and it was so inspiring to capture these moments in my Fall Collection.” – Rolando Santana
The women in the 1970’s may have been carefree, but the designs shown by Rolando Santana for Fall/Winter 2012 certainly were not. The guests of Santana gathered in Eyebeam Studios for the premiere of his latest collection, which had everyone grooving in their seat. Set to some boogey-down disco classics, the collection which featured signature leather wear with a lot of glam was set in a darker color palette. Standout pieces were those with fur accents, lame, and plunging backs. Red popped on the runway, and the jackets were great pieces for any woman.
An incredibly fun and stylized collection that could have been so wrong, was so right. Santana delivered a young take on an old idea, and it was a total success.
