A dream was the theme of the Spring 2013 collection from designer Sarah Jassir. The ethereal feeling was in the air as lace & floral appliqués over organza & satins walked down the intimate runway setting.
With traditional silhouettes & modern combined, along with materials such as lace mixed with fully sequin fabrics, the vibe was classic & modern at the same time. The common thread that pulled the collection together was the detail of the lining in several garments being a blush pink tone. This was an emerging trend we saw throughout Bridal Week on nearly every collection, no matter the price point. An asymmetrical lace slip dress with this undertone was fresh, sexy & definitely new as an option in the bridal market. Beaded leaf shaped appliqués adorned shoulders & were splashed across satin bias cut gowns that presented some provocative alternatives without revealing too much.
There where plenty long & cropped sleeved options & cover-ups that could work to perfection for the more conservative brides & ceremonies. A sequin fitted jacket paired with slim taffeta trousers was the designer’s choice of suit for this seasons collection. The final look of the show was a sequin sweetheart siren gown with a blush lining & a high frontal slit. This sexy cut is becoming a definite trend for season making all of the spectators revisit time & time again Angelina Jolie´s look at the 2012 Oscars.
