What’s not to love about Max Kibardin, and Jean Claude Huon, the founder and managing director of Wave Atelier. They both are exceedingly delightful, pleasantly friendly, and equally enthusiastic about fashion.

Metropolitan Pavilion
This season Natsuko Kanno presented her collection in a sunny white walled space, which although very bright and quite spacious, seemed a bit more cozy and intimate than last season’s venue, the Eyebeam Studios, a massive and dark warehouse space on the other side of town.

Café Rouge
Continuing with her strengths of presenting fabric in draped and flowing excesses, Ms Ovitz showed a powerful, strong, and mysterious woman, in clothes made up of diagonals, layers, angles, and plenty of asymmetry.

Bold print and heavy color blocking filled the HAUS ALKIRE Soho gallery space during their A/W 2013 presentation. This season HAUS ALKIRE teamed up with Swarovski Elements in creating one of a kind, hand crafted piecework for many garments.

Pier 59 Studios
Unlike her last collection for S/S13, Erin Barr sent her collection down the catwalk. Most of these garments were discreetly placed with peekaboo cut outs in marquee shapes around the necklines of jackets and tops, rectangle and triangle cutouts in the center of crop tops and dresses, and slits; some with zippers to control how much skin to expose.

Helen Mills Event Space
Omar Salam, founder and creative director of Sukeina has been compared to a young Versace with the finesses of Valentino; it clearly showed in his FW 2013 collection. The inspiration for this collection is obvious equestrian meets military. The beautiful ink camelhair riding hats that the models wore with their hair up, in the most gorgeous buns, throughout the collection, brought us back to another era.

For many boys the desire is to be a fireman, athlete, racecar driver, etc., for girls, a ballerina, model, fashion designer, and so on. Dana-Maxx Pomerantz always wanted to be a fashion designer, and have her own company, ever since her days as a child play acting at running a design studio and boutique in her bedroom.
