Refreshing in style and in values, Johanna Riplinger has a vision of sustainable fashion that reflects the values of the women who will wear her clothes. Seeking to express this through her visual communication, Riplinger’s Spring 2014 photo shoot took place on location at a Villa in the south of France, the photographer brought along his underwater camera to capture the feminine airiness of Riplinger’s designs, suspended weightless around the body of Franziska Schreiber, world champion swimmer, and more aquatic artist than model. A trifecta of light, woman, and water.
Riplinger’s connection to the elements is built in to her brand. An ecologically conscious desiger, she uses organic textiles and natural dyes from the flowers whose fluttering petals inspired this season’s collection. Based in Paris, Riplinger’s German heritage finds its roots in nature, which inspires a high-end ready-to-wear collection ideal for the uber femininity of the French woman.
With a runway show in Berlin and showroom in Paris, Riplinger also participates in Berlin’s GREENshowroom, emphasizing her commitment to the ecological responsibilities of fashion. And for her ecological convictions, her collection is also one where the ‘green’ element is added value for a purely desirable feminine silhouette.
