The creative genius of Ms. Corrie Nielsen never ceases to amaze us. AW 2014 takes us through the journey of a woman & her experiences of love & seduction, inspired by Joan of Arc, Bram Stoker‘s Dracula, & the painter Peter Paul Rubens.
All the season’s influences were represented in each ensemble – starting off with a Ruben’s color palette of Soft Gold, Gunmetal, Navy, & Black. The headpieces were reminiscent of the items worn by Joan of Arc & her soldiers, while the garments of sculpted jackets & dresses mirrored the shapes of armor during their time. Ms. Nielsen pulled out all the stops in highlighting Stoker’s Dracula, with an echoing sultry appeal that ran throughout her captivating & impressive collection.
Ms. Nielsen is not new to the Fashion World, winning the 2010 Fashion Fringe award (presented to her by John Galliano), having 6 seasons of presenting her collection in London, & now for the first time a guest on the Paris Pret-a-Porter calendar. This American in Paris is becoming all the rage, & we are looking forward to her continued success & ascent in the City of Lights & around the world.
