The always eccentric Custo Barcelona displayed another trademark collection on Friday that welcomed the weekend in with much pleasure & excitement. The collection, entitled “Slow”, was expertly expressed via their slouchy silhouettes & open gauge knits presumably set the tone for an easy, yet joyful lifestyle we always look forward to seeing. The Barcelonian roots of the brand really stood out as the Spanish zest fluidly mixed with what seemed to be Hollywood-esque, or perhaps even Bollywood-esque, elements. If I were to sum it up, figuratively, it made us feel like a small hint of Bollywood mixed with the 70′s.
Although there were a variety of colors, the rich tones & lame yarns held the main focus & provided the collection with that extra something we couldn’t place our finger on. The seam detailing & considerable needle was rather intriguing for a brand this far along in its life cycle & spoke to the talent of the designer, who consistently finds a route to freshness within the tight constraints of the Custo Barcelona aesthetic.
