For her 50th year celebration Betsey took us through time & showed us the many decades she & her namesake label have survived. With six sections of nine models each, she allowed us to travel through time & witness her flair for fashion and keen eye on the abnormal. The fifties, sixties, & some eighties too, Betsey did not hold back with her prom dresses, flouncy skirts, petticoat saloon girls, a nineteen twenties bar maid; you name it, it was probably there in some fashion.
After every collective she had a poem explaining the inspiration & foundation for each creative element. Not to miss out on the trends, she made sure to show a unisex themed collective for the rocker era with a poem about cross dressing & drag queens. It made perfect sense. It was the perfect party for Betsey & we couldn’t be happier to celebrate with her. For the final run through the models came out in all black, each outfitted with a larger than life chrome balloon set of the numbers five & zero. And as if to never disappoint, Betsey graced us with her famous cartwheel & split, a moment never to be forgotten.
