Desigual showed a merchandise mixed collection for the ‘woman in the city’ this season at NYFW. As fun & energetic as Desigual can be, they upped the ante with bright bolder prints but were surprisingly tame & didn’t put them all together in one outfit, at first. Many of the models were wearing a fixed headdress of varying styles, &/or carrying a eccentric accessory, befitting of the brands thoroughly styled products. One thing that may or may not have been uncomfortable was the ethnic, or should we say ‘urban’ hairstyle that was on most models, pushing that downtown girl means uptown price points very “subliminally “. It was almost hard to tell who they wanted their customer to be this season.
Regardless, the fun never stopped & the colors didn’t either. Every tone under the rainbow was show that day the quirky teenager who never grew up, walked down the runway forty three times showing you just how different she could be, & different it was - a coat with houndstooth paneling beginning at the collar bone set with an array of floral arrangements on the top & sleeve, paired with striped leggings with another circular pattern on top of that. Many other floral & striped patterns came before & were to follow. All of these looks were very ‘out to the flower pot’ & we’re excited to see what brave sole wears them with anything other than a solid.
