Sofia Sizzi, designer of Giulietta, gave us a clear vision or rather a colored one, today of what she imagines Spring 2016 should look like. Red & Blue visors were worn by some of the models, leading the way to a ‘bright’ future. One could even say that the designer was influenced by the US Open held in Flushing Queens, as fashion week came at the tail end of the sporting event. Sizzi’s clothing transported us to a futuristic, tennis inspired land of luxury – imagine a Wimbledon after party where you didn’t have to wear just White, color was welcomed & it’s safe to say that Sofia got the memo.
The collection started off with Black & White looks, but shorts after a green, lace/macramé like pant make its way onto the runway, beneath a Cream & White color blocked, collarless coat. One of the standouts was the perfect pattern placement in the White, Blue & Red pants, paired with a Red top & Blue visor, covering the model’s face. There was some fun lace appliqués & piecing floating throughout that was just enough of a surprise to peak our interest further, if that were even possible. Every garment had a certain detailing to it, that made you want to figure out how & why? Whether or not we’ll get the answer is entirely up to Sizzi, regardless, we are well satisfied.
