Origami & minimalism are two key words for Charles Yourself first spring 2015 presentation at New York Fashion week. Charles’ collection was elegant, minimalistic, & creative. You could see he had been inspired by architecture & origami in most of his designs, by the origami shaped fortune cookie details on the dresses & the fine lining & structures in the collection.
He presented a diversity of wool crepe dresses with different variety of stretch inserts, sheer silk organza hem with zig-zag appliqué, side cutouts & metal embellishments. The colors were mostly dark, with some exceptions like the nude silk pieces, the wide leg silk/linen blend trousers, & the strong red stretch wool backless dress.
The outlay of the room was simple, with all white walls and strategically hanged spotlights, as where the models, with slicked back hair & natural makeup which complemented Charles’ collection, & gave an elegance & sophistication to the presentation.
