Set in Greenwich Village, Claire Pettibone immediately transported her attendees into a world of wanderlust, diversity, & mystery with her SS18 collection. Entitled “Vagabond” Pettibone displayed a collection that was not only heavy on embroidery, but also chock full of unique colors not typically seen in modern day bridal collections. Gold, Platinum-Silver, Beige, & even Magenta commanded immediate attention once in full view. Greek goddesses come to mind, with the deep plunging necklines paired with volume in hair showcasing either a subtle jeweled headband or a matching veil cascading down the back of a form fitting dress.
The Claire Pettibone bride is one with a sense of rebellion, mystery, & yet delicate nature & she’ll feel that this collection is designed specifically for her. Layered tulle on top of Pearl silk beginning at the neckline gave way gradually to transparency toward the bottom of the gown, & revealed to viewers an unexpected twist to a bridal collection. Claire Pettibone “melded and blended traditions & cultures” to ultimately produce a line that was fresh & new while evoking a sense of adventure. The result - Pettibone pushed the boundaries of what a bridal collection could be.
