Darling of the downtown set, Adrienne Landau, was up to her usual tricks for Spring 2018 & the effect was no less intoxicating. Adrienne walks the fine line between cool & kitsch with her feathered & furred creations, but one thing is for certain… you’re going to smile when you see her pieces in person, because her creations are every bit as infectious as the designer herself’s personality.
Adrienne Landau always makes me laugh when we speak. Her biting, fiercely sarcastic take on the world around her & the “importance” of the world we call “fashion” always linger with me long after we part. This same DNA is at the heart of her collection each & every season.
Spring 2018 is one where Lime Green Marabou is sewn as tuxedo stripes on Heather Gray track pants which, of course, you’d wear with your matching hoodie with the same Marabou sewn around the hood opening, or… for a more formal occasion, a Lime Green top can be selected with exaggerated poofs of Marabou at each cuff. The pieces can be worn as an ensemble if you dare, or would be just as suited to provide a whimsical punch to anyone’s existing wardrobe.
Should you want to go a bit more extravagant for the season, there’s also ample opportunity with one of Landau’s oversized, Snow White Fox fur chubbies, hooded parka’s, or even a full length, uber chic piece that would be as perfectly suited for the Red Carpet at the MTV Music Awards as it would for a night out to remember in Aspen… or dinner in the East Village if you are one of her downtown dah-lings of note!
