Miami based, girls swimwear company KK Swimwear took to the runways of NYFW to present there Spring 2018 collection. The show, packed to the last row, was a nod to the 1980′s with an updated take on bold graphic prints that evoked the feeling of Gianni Versace in his South Beach heyday.
Bold Black & White striped patterns with jewel tone bright objects floating above, in this case age appropriate objects like Parrots, feathers & costume jewelry. Finish the looks off with some color & print coordinated jackets & coverups, pump up the volume with some exaggerated ruffle details & the full picture is complete.
The silhouettes ran the expected gamut from one piece tanks to some bralette tops with boy briefs & even a few borderline risqué bikinis (but this is runway…) . The designer for the collection, Natalia, says her inspiration for the collection was her 6 year old daughter who “loves to dance, sing & play dress up.” The inspiration is evident in every piece of this collection.
The KK Swimwear range is available in girls sizes 2 to 16 & is available on their website: www.kkswimwear.com
One note… the site notes that if you don’t see a silhouette you like on their site, simply ask & they’ll create a custom one for you… may be a story coming on that option soon!
