This NYFW, anticipation was high as Canadian ready to wear label Nonie chose to debut their collection in the US on the runways of Spring Studios. Their Spring 2019 collection focused on bold, graphic solids in Black, Ivory, Red & Yellow, all crafted like they’re worn in traditional Indian culture, which was true to their stated inspiration. While the clothing was striking, it was actually the shoes that caught our eyes… the Irena mule from Bernardo 1946.
We’ve been spotting stylish mules all over the runways during NYFW, but they’ve also been a constant presence on the notables in the audience. From celebrities to the bloggers (aka: “Influencers”) to the editors alike… mules, mules, everywhere mules! While there is nearly as much variety in the mules as there are people claiming to be influencers, the Irena from Bernardo were the standouts in our eyes because of their understated, sculptural simplicity. A modern take on a retro style! Love at first site… get them before they’re gone, we don’t think it will be long… www.bernardo1946.com.
