High School for Fashion Industries Students Showcase Bridal Design Talent at Kleinfeld

20 Views June 12, 2026

Students from the High School for Fashion Industries (HSFI) presented their annual Bridal Design Showcase at Kleinfeld Bridal, highlighting the next generation of fashion talent through an impressive collection of original bridal gowns.

The showcase featured designs created by Mark Centeno’s 11th Grade Honors class, whose capstone project challenged students to conceptualize, design, and construct wedding gowns while mastering advanced garment construction techniques. Among the most notable aspects of this year’s presentation was the sophisticated corsetry and structural work demonstrated throughout the collection, reflecting the students’ growing technical expertise.

Presented in one of the bridal industry’s most recognizable venues, the showcase underscored HSFI’s unique position as one of the nation’s only public high schools dedicated specifically to fashion education alongside a traditional academic curriculum. Students were also recognized for the collaborative nature of the project, with presenters acknowledging the contributions of their fellow team members throughout the design and production process.

The event was supported by Kleinfeld Bridal, the iconic New York retailer known worldwide as the setting for the television series Say Yes to the Dress, and by longtime fashion advocate and lifestyle commentator Robert Di Mauro. Industry professionals served as judges, evaluating the students’ work and providing valuable feedback.

The program also received support from Allure Bridals, which donated fabrics used in the students’ creations.

With each passing year, the HSFI Bridal Design Showcase continues to demonstrate the remarkable level of creativity, craftsmanship, and professional preparation being developed within New York City’s future fashion workforce.
