NYMD: A. Potts FW 2025

692 Views February 10, 2025

Aaron Potts is a regular at NYMD and one of the most anticipated shows during the bi-annual daylong event. He has stayed true to his “genderless fashion” aesthetic and was in fact one of the early movers of the genre.  For fall 2025, this translated to long flowing solid pieces such as slouchy hoodies, sweatpants, harem pants, capes and tunics in solid Black. A Camo-like Cheetah print pant set was Mr. Potts’ only departure from a solid color palette. The oversize button-down Dark Gray jumpsuit got our vote for the most versatile piece in the collection and the long Black jersey pieces squarely checked off the gender-neutral box.

Best in show was the traffic stopping asymmetric Neon Orange dress that caused all eyes in the room to swivel. The long sleeve dress had a keyhole cut out sexy twist front detailing at the neck, breastbone and hips.

What also grabbed us was the oversize gold jewelry by Tribe Aesthetic and milliner Ashaka Givens’ signature tall bowler hats all the models wore. This shape was popularized by Ms. Givens’ long-time singer and client, Erykah Badu. The cheetah bowler a model with bleached blonde dreadlocks wore is sure to sell through as it adds flair to the most minimalist of outfits. We applaud Mr. Potts for staying true to his gender fluid positioning without alienating the far larger cisgender audience.
