Adriana Martinez- New York & Paris Contributor
Argentine born designer Adriana V. Martinez draws her inspiration from a childhood passion for fashion. Born in a small town, her grandmother was the neighborhood tailor who would recycle what she could to create new looks and fashion styles for her family and the neighborhood. As a child, Adriana would mimic her Grandmother’s creations with her Barbie dolls in the hopes of one day following in her footsteps. She immigrated with her family to the United States and began to pursue that dream. Adriana attended the High School of Fashion Industries and would soon go on to attend Parsons School of Design.
Once in the industry, she started working for evening wear designer Pilar Rossi, taking special requests from her customers at her Madison Avenue boutique and translating them in her design room. Hungry to expand her horizons, Adriana began looking for opportunities to travel and further her knowledge base, both on a creative and spiritual level. She accepted a position at a junior sportswear company that manufactured overseas. From there, she travelled the world over, scouting fashion trends throughout Europe, India, Canada, China and Japan amongst other places. Her dedication quickly earned her the title of Design Director and Merchandiser.
Adriana’s work has been featured on the pages of Seventeen, Elle, Teen Vogue & several other media outlets both printed & digital.
