In a fast-paced, technology-driven world, Sara Wong (or, as her label reads: SARAWONG) gives us a reminder to slow down & reconnect with the rhythm of nature in her Spring/Summer ’25 show, entitled “Way To Blossoms”, at Milan Fashion Week. Her newest collection is majorly influenced by a classic Chinese utopian tale: “The Peach Blossom Spring” by Tao Yuanming. The fictional story is based around a fisherman who comes across an idyllic world that is isolated from the commotion & disorder of everyday life. There is an overarching emphasis on peace & self-sufficiency in an ethereal realm where one can live simply, discovering a perfect harmony with nature. An important theme throughout the story, also reflected through the collection, is Peach Orchards, which are representative of harmony & serenity. While the story remains fantasy, it can be deeply representative of a universal longing for a simple & perfect life.

Today’s fashion landscape is one where brands are diving right into the exciting technological sphere utilizing Augmented Reality, AI Generated visuals, & digital showrooms. SARAWONG sets herself apart, using floral motifs & earth tones to reset our focus onto the natural world, “With the SS25 collection, I aim to nourish the soul through nature, extending the vitality of the garments & opening the heart to spring, with determination towards discovering a personal & ideal paradise.” The collection reflects the ideal SARAWONG woman, who has achieved a perfect balance in her life, both beautiful & courageous in tandem.

With the SS25 collection, I aim to nourish the soul through nature, extending the vitality of the garments & opening the heart to spring, with determination towards discovering a personal & ideal paradise.

SARAWONG achieves a nature-driven utopian fantasy with her SS25 collection through carefully selected fabrics & flower tropes that allow for interpretation & underlying dimensions. The lotus flower is exhibited through prints & embroidery, triggering a sense of serenity & transcendent beauty. The flower has historically been a representation of purity & rebirth. The myrtle flower symbolizes peace & fertility illustrating harmony & vitality. Peach blossoms are encompassed in intricate patterns as a depiction of prosperity & good fortune, celebrating abundance & joy. Soft textures & embroidery model the begonia, an expression of innocence & pure love, adding sweetness & romance to the collection.

The fabrics of the collection were chosen to highlight the theme of nature and lightness:

  • Acetate Satin: Emulates an elegant & fluid look
  • Mulberry Silk Linen: Creates a unique combination of softness & breathability, both helpful in functionality & tending to the theme.
  • Silk: Represents richness & unparalleled texture while establishing a sense of understated, refined luxury.
  • Raised Jacquard: Adds uniqueness & complexity with a three-dimensional effect that resembles the details of flowers.
  • Devore: Creates transparency & fluid effects as the material shifts with the light, exuding sophistication & modernity.

Structured pleating creates movement to convey the grace & elegance of peach orchards. The colors of Pale Pink, Soft Blue, & Ivory White used throughout the collection create an element of freshness & simply elegance aligning with the utopia described in the tale. SARAWONG SS25 upholds the label’s key elements of fusion, balance, determination, & uniqueness. Her most recent collection is not only high fashion but a celebration of the harmony between man & nature.
