NYMD: Max Esmail FW2025

476 Views February 11, 2025

We were greeted to a tableau of cool when we walked into the large all-white space in the afternoon session. The set resembled a minimalist office space with the Manhattan skyline provided an arresting backdrop. Mr. Esmail drew inspiration from his 55 Bond Street studio, thus the collection title of “55 Bond Street”, a space that according to www.themanual.com is an homage to modern architects such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe & Brutalist Max Breuer.

As for the clothes, Esmail kept to a tight collection of less than 20 looks. Buttery jackets in Black & Bordeaux leather & a distressed Gray leather bomber jacket that each hit the mark as stylishly minimal outerwear options for the brutally cold February weather. For a dressier look, the long Navy wool coat & easier (aka: loose) fit trouser would be perfect for dinner at a swanky downtown restaurant. While this was sized as a capsule collection, the pieces make for some great wardrobe staples for men building a minimalist core to the wearer’s wardrobe. We look forward to seeing what this designer will offer for Spring 2026.
