Fall/Winter 2021 is a season of elevation for the under the radar (at least on these shores) Italian label Beatrice b. The collection is elevating its signature craft to new heights with luxe textures, rich patterns & unique color combinations. The result, we predict, will also be an elevation of the retail presence of the collection. Beatrice b. is entirely produced in Italy, where the broad range of silhouettes & fabrications are deftly assembled into a collection so full of quirk & so offbeat that it’s an aesthetic that can only be appreciated en masse by a seriously sophisticated fashionista. Yet, when dissected into the collection’s individual components, there truly are pieces in the range that anyone, yes anyone, could find a perfect fit into their existing wardrobe to provide it with a punch or pop.
Such design as is embodied in the Beatrice b. collection for Fall/Winter 2021 is normally the essential DNA of an American Sportswear collection. Normally, the European approach doesn’t yield the same seamless, effortless results as the one shown in this collection. This is not a judgement of European talent at all, as I’m a firm believer that what the Americans offer in terms of cohesive, ever evolving design over time, the Europeans offer in radical seasonal reinvention as their hallmark. Both have endless merit, both aesthetically & philosophically. My point being, rarely do the two cross paths. In the case of the Beatrice b. collection reviewed herein, the two not only cross, the results are truly remarkable.

The collection found its inspirations in the idyllic landscapes of the planet around us. As the designer statement says: The Beatrice b. woman is always searching for meanings inside contrasts, symbol of a subversive, ironic & soft elegance that mixes different times & places, uniting what is new with what endures & lasts. If you are a customer looking for some truly inspired fashion that is not so esoteric as to render the garment as overly precious, the Beatrice b. collection for Fall/Winter 2021 may just be one worth investigating. Each piece of this collection stands alone, but when worn in tandem with others, the effect is exponentially intriguing. This is a collection that deserves exploration.
